Personal profile
Sellina is a PhD candidate at Royal Holloway University of London. Her research focuses of ICT4D projects with special intereste in telecentres. She holds a Masters Degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of the Western Cape. Her Masters research focused on the use of community telecentres in Malawi. Her main research interests are eLearning, ICT4D and ICT application in libraries. She has published and reviewed papers (for journals and conferences) around these areas.
Sellina also serves as a Senior lecturer in the Department of Information Science, Mzuzu University, Malawi. She been working in the Department since November 2010; and headed the Department from January 2015 to September, 2017.
Sellina is active in her profession. She is a member of the Malawi Library Association, a fellow of the second African School on Internet Governance, an alumnus of the Communications Policy Research Young Scholars and, also, an alumnus of the Internet Corporations for Assigned Names and Numbers NextGen; and alumnus of the 2017 All Africa House Fellowship, a fellowship which targets young or mid career African academics to be at University of Cape Town to write up research paper(s) for publication.
