Academic Profile

I am a Lecturer in Operations Management at Royal Holloway, University of London (RHUL), where I joined in August 2020. Prior to joining RHUL, I worked at several UK and international universities, including Brunel University, Middlesex University, and Henley Business School. I hold a Master’s by Research and a PhD from Brunel Business School.

Research

My research interests lie at the intersection of Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, and other business functions. My work is interdisciplinary in nature, reflecting my interest in understanding how operational and organisational practices influence business performance and the experiences of different stakeholders. I have published my research in a range of academic journals and presented my work at national and international conferences.

More recently, my research has expanded towards the student journey and student experience, with particular interests in students’ sense of belonging and educational pedagogy. This work reflects my broader interest in understanding how educational practices, engagement, and institutional support can enhance students’ academic and personal development.

Leadership and Academic Service

Since joining RHUL, I have undertaken several leadership and academic service roles across the Business School. I previously served as Director of Student Experience and Engagement, where I played a key role in strengthening the student voice, engagement, and overall student experience within the Business School and contributing to wider university initiatives. In this role, I worked closely with colleagues and students and contributed to several working groups aimed at enhancing the student journey.

I have also served as the Business School Departmental Study Abroad Advisor, supporting both incoming and outgoing students. In this role, I provided guidance throughout the application process and supported students in preparing for and navigating their study-abroad experiences. I have also worked closely with incoming students as their personal tutor to support their transition and enhance their experience at RHUL.

In addition, I have led the School’s Personal Tutoring system, contributing to the development of effective personal tutoring practices and strengthening academic and pastoral support for students.

Teaching and Learning

I teach a range of modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. My teaching approach is student-centred and focuses on creating engaging, inclusive, and interactive learning environments. I employ a diverse range of teaching and learning approaches and technologies to encourage active participation and connect theoretical concepts with practical business challenges.

One area of particular interest is the use of business simulations as a teaching and learning tool. I have worked with external simulation providers, including Edumundo, as well as other simulation teams, to integrate high-quality simulation games into teaching. These approaches enable students to apply theoretical concepts in realistic business contexts, develop their decision-making and problem-solving skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of operations and business management.
