I recently completed my Doctoral Thesis at Royal Holloway, University of London, titled Compassion-Focused Therapy Change Mechanisms in a Complex PTSD Population. My research focused on understanding the mechanisms of change within Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) and evaluating these mechanisms in individuals experiencing complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This work included two empirical projects and one systematic review, contributing to the evidence base for CFT, particularly in its application to complex traumatic stress.
Throughout my academic journey, under the guidance of Dr Kate Ashcroft, Dr Dorothy King, and Dr Deborah Lee, I have developed a strong interest in Single-Case Experimental Design (SCED) as a methodology for exploring therapeutic interventions. In addition to my research on CPTSD, I am particularly interested in applying these approaches to work with older adults, which I will pursue further in my upcoming role within an older adults' team in Berkshire. This position will allow me to continue developing my clinical expertise while expanding my research into CPTSD and mental health in older populations.
