Mollie Legg is a secondary school teacher and doctoral researcher at Royal Holloway, University of London.
Her primary interest is in evaluating the value of classical mythology when exploring topics rooted in UNESCO’s Global Citizenship Education programme. This research involves using ancient stories to explore difficult contemporary issues – such as effective leadership, defining ‘home’ and navigating interpersonal relationships – at a neutralising and safe distance.
Mollie is particularly interested in students’ discursive and creative responses to these challenging topics. As such, the workshops include art, acting, debate and free writing.
Mollie's current research interests lie in exploring emotional literacy, self-expression, empathy and confidence-building within schools, as well as how we might build intersectional communities of socially engaged and empowered young people.
