Personal profile

Mohammad is the author of The Legitimacy of Use of Force in Public and Islamic International Law (Palgrave Macmillan, 2021). Previously he worked as a Lecturer in Law at the University Of Suffolk where he was module convenor for Research Methods in Law, Land Law, Equity and Trusts, Dispute Resolution, Legal Ethics, and Public International Law (optional) modules. For his contribution to the development and delivery of research-informed teaching, Mohammad was awarded the ‘Lecturer of the Year’. Mohammad also worked as an Associate Lecturer in Law at Northumbria Law School where he taught Jurisprudence, Civil Dispute Resolution, Advanced Property Law and Practice, and LLM Legal Research modules.

Mohammad completed his doctoral studies at Northumbria Law School. His doctoral thesis focused on an aspect of comparative analysis of two potentially conflicting legal systems, namely Public International Law and Islamic International Law to discover to what extent these two systems could legitimately complement each other in a plural fashion. Prior to his doctoral studies, Mohammad studied Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) and Master of Laws (LLM) at Northumbria Law School. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London, in 2014. Mohammad is a member of the General Council of the Bar of England and Wales. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).

Mohammad is a member of the Kings Group Academies UK Board of Governors. He has discharged various roles in the governing body. Currently, he is working with the local authorities on a collaboration project concerning the safeguarding of children and their Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
