Dr Millicent Ele is a lecture in Law at Royal Holloway, University of London, Department of Law and Criminology. Before joining RHUL in May 2024, she was a lecture in law at Sussex University, England, and a Teaching Fellow in Law at the University of Aberdeen School of Law, Scotland. She previously lectured for many years at the Faculty of Law, University of Nigeria, Nigeria.

Her research interest is in environmental law particularly corporate environmental responsibility and pollution control laws. She is also interested in the sustainable use of natural resources, clean energy, public health law/global health, and climate justice. She has published peer-reviewed articles in respected law journals and contributed substantial research and editorial work to 'The Public Health Law Manual' (3rd Ed.). Her monograph titled Corporate Environmental Responsibility and Pollution Control Laws: The Case of Oil Spills in the Niger Delta was published by Routledge in August 2025 . This work was based substantially on her PhD work.

Millicent is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and has been admitted to practice law in Nigeria and the State of New York, USA. At various stages in her law teaching career, Millicent has taught Environmental law, contract law, alternative methods of dispute resolution (ADR), intellectual property law, as well as seminars in a host of law courses including the English legal system, public international law, law of torts, criminal law, and land law.

Millicent currently contributes to the teaching of contract law, land law, and the English Legal System at RHUL. She is an associate of the Legal Advice Centre and supervises the Street Law Programme.
