Personal profile

As Vice Principal (Quality and Standards), I lead the develpment and oversee the effectivensess of quality and standards across the College's taught courses and research degrees. As Executive Dean, I lead the School of Law and Social Sciences which is home to the College's Criminology, Economics, Forensic Psychology, International Relations, Law, Philosophy, Politics, Social Work and Sociology disciplines. 

I am a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Professor at Royal Holloway. 

I was awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours list 2011 for services to the community in central London, and my work with EC1 New Deal for Communities (I was the Chair of the Partnership Board from 2004-2011). I am committed to social justice and community project work, and have been actively involved in leading regeneration and project work in communities for 20 years. 

Research interests

My research field is European environmental law, regeneration and social justice, including dispute resolution and mediation.
