Kerrie joined Royal Holloway in 2021 having previously worked at the University of Bath as a lecturer and teaching fellow. She is currently Director of Student Placements in the School of Business. She convenes two modules Management Consulting and Communication and Collaboration, the design of which she led drawing from her research on middle managers and practitioner knowledge.

 

Kerrie's research focus covers a range of concerns pertaining to middle managers' voice, their identities, careers, practices and how context enables and hinders them. Currently she is researching the career progression of middle managers in the public sector. More broadly she is interested in organizations, and how middle managers help or hinder their performance, legitimation and contribution to society.

 

Kerrie holds a PhD and an MBA from the University of Bath. Prior to becoming an academic she worked as an independent consultant with  both non-profit organizations and businesses. Working mostly at international level her clients included UN Women, the United Nations Capital Fund and the United Nations Population Fund.  Prior to consulting she worked as a global program director in the international non-profit sector overseeing complex research projects and cross-sector collaborations in the field of human rights and humanitarian crisis.
