Katie's Ph.D project took place in the the quantum devices group within condensed matter at Royal Holloway, University of London. Her project investigated the period doubling bifrucation effect. A novel effect within superconductivity, which offers a scheme for qubit readout and single microwave photon detection.

 

Since completing her Ph.D, Katie has started a post-doc at University College London in Prof. Paul Warburton's research group, working on flux qubits for quantum annealing.

Teaching

Katie works as a first year lab demonstrator at Royal Holloway, for the undergraduate course entitled 'PH1140 Scientific Skills'.
