My PhD thesis focuses on public debates between the Church and heretics in southern France in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries.

My research interests include:

  • Medieval heresy and its implications relating to identity and power
  • Toleration and persecution
  • Public spheres, public debates, and public opinion in the Middle Ages
  • Inquisition, courts and legal processes
  • Unbelief and belief in the Middle Ages
