Why do some children struggle in school while others seem to sail through? This is the question that drives my research. To tackle this complex and multi-faceted problem, I'm using the full arsenal of cognitive neuroscience tools of neuroimaging, genetics, psychometric assessments, and computational modelling.

I hope that this research will contribute to all children being able to reach their full potential and lead happy and fulfilling lives.


I am the course coordinator for PS1090 'Understanding Neuroscience'. I also teach on the 3rd-year BSc courses 'Developmental Disorders' (PS3121),  'Advanced Developmental Psychology' (PS3141), and 'Educational Psychology' (PS3190).  

Educational background

I completed my undergraduate studies in Biology and then went on to a Master's degree in cellular and systems neuroscience. Later, I turned towards cognitive neuroscience and focused on cognitive development during childhood. I have experience in working with children with rare developmental conditions, such as selective sensory impairments and genetic disorders, and children with more common conditions, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and learning difficulties.
