Isabelle Kemp is an AHRC-funded PhD candidate from Royal Holloway, University of London, based in the Department of Media Arts. Her research focuses on representations of single motherhood in British cinema, during the period of 1945-1970. She is a graduate of University College London (MA Film Studies) and the University of Exeter (BA English and History). Research interests include cinematic and media representations of gender, sexuality and the family, and British social and cultural history.
Supervised by Professor John Hill and Professor Daniela Berghahn.
