Personal profile

Personal profile

I am a Senior Lecturer (teaching-focused) and Director of Education in the Department of Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London. I also oversee third-year undergraduate students as their coordinator.

I completed my PhD at the UCL Institute of Child Health, researching the neuroanatomical correlates of intelligence, speech, and language in children with perinatal brain injury. My work combined advanced neuroimaging techniques - including structural and functional MRI and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) tractography - with neuropsychological assessments to study brain development and cognitive function.

Following a career break, I joined the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London as a Lecturer in Neurodevelopmental Science Education, where I led the MSc in Clinical Neurodevelopmental Sciences. In September 2022, I became a Senior Lecturer at Royal Holloway.

I have a strong interest in teaching structural and functional neuroanatomy, using interactive methods to make the subject engaging and accessible for undergraduate students. I am also passionate about bridging research with clinical practice and education, ensuring that students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for careers in psychology.

I deliver lectures and workshops across various psychology modules, including:

Undergraduate (BSc Psychology)
  • Understanding Mental Health & Wellbeing (PS1110)
  • Understanding Neuroscience (PS1090)
  • Brain & Behaviour (PS2061)
  • Clinical & Cognitive Neuroscience (PS3141)
Postgraduate (MSc Clinical Psychology)
  • Clinical Assessment and Treatment Approaches (PS5306)
  • Professional Clinical Practice and Skills (PS5307)
  • Clinical Placements (PS5304) – Module Coordinator
