My research explores the stability of self-perceptions integrating tools from experimental economics, social and cognitive psychology and shows evidence that self-rankings are susceptible to cognitive biases such as anchoring and choice blindness in a self-serving manner. I am interested in further exploring the interplay between self-enhancing and self-consistency motivations in the formation of individuals’ self-rankings, judgments and choices and modelling the psychological factors shaping our preferences over time and various decision contexts.
