My research interest is in the intersection of voice studies with musicology and the study of opera, and how diverse, interdisciplinary understandings of the voice are reflected in contemporary musical composition and performance practices.
My future research is set to explore further the intersections between musical composition and performance with diverse theoretical understandings of the voice. I wish to investigate how the phenomenological, musical and interpersonal complexities of the voice are staged in performances of historical operatic and classical vocal repertoire, as well as by contemporary non-classical singers and performers.
