Personal profile

My research links climate change and volcanic systems. I use volcanic ash layers preserved within marine and lake sediments to both reconstruct the eruption histories of volcanoes and date proxies of environmental change.

At Royal Holloway I teach on the first year fieldtrip to Spain and the second year Geographical Techniques (statistics) and Earth Surface Processes and Hazards modules. I also supervise dissertations for 3rd year students.

I also have a role as the Schools Liason and Outreach Officer where I coordinate our Geography schools ambassador students and visit schools to spread the word of studying geography at University and pursuing a geographical career.
