Btissam obtained her PhD from Royal Holloway, University of London, where she currently works as a lecturer in human resource management. The overall aim of her research is to examine human resource management practices that promote well-being and ethical and responsible behaviour at work.
She is particularly interested in how employees respond to and cope with ongoing work changes. Her research interests include the following areas:
· Designing, implementing and managing performance management systems
· Promoting and sustaining employee well-being
· Navigating ethical challenges at work
· Managing work motivation and productivity
She has published her work in leading journals and is currently pursuing a research project on anxiety at work, examining the impact of work-related anxiety on employees’ work attitudes, work relationships and career decisions.
Btissam is an academic member of the CIPD and acts as a committee member for the Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes branch. She is also a fellow of the Higher Education Academy and currently teaches modules on work and well-being for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
