Research interests

A member of the Royal Holloway ultra-low temperature group, Prof. Andrew Casey is the principal investigator on the Quantum technology for Fundamental Physics funded consortium QUEST-DMC (Quantum enhanced superfluid technologies for Dark Matter and Cosmology).

 

Teaching

Dr. Andrew Casey works with the Institute of Physics, through their Stimulating Physics Network and Capital Physics Networks to promote the discipline of physics and work to address the gender imbalance at undergraduate level through giving lectures to A-level teachers.

A recent project to broaden the provision of A-level physics through specialist lectures delivered in a distance learning environment is being run by United Classroom. Dr. Casey provided a materials physics masterclass within a United Classroom Google Hangout, the lecture and Q&A session was recorded and is freely availble on youtube.
