Akilles Rechardt

I am a PhD student in the Department of Psychology with a BSc Psychology degree from UCL. My PhD project investigates how healthy ageing affects category learning by utilising computational modelling. I am trying to understand what age-related neurodegenerative changes might be causing changes in the neural representations and learning of categories.

I am broadly interested in the complex computations of the brain giving rise to abilities such as object recognition, reasoning, and abstraction. Some more specific interests include:

1. The intersection and computational similarities between artificial and biological neural networks

2. Ageing effects on the brain and how these manifest in cognition

3. Visual processing
