The College needs more people like Ailson in order to improve its teaching performance: people who are willing to go the extra mile to support students, and who see teaching as an essential element of our School.”

“I have worked closely with Ailson De Moraes in delivering the MN3301 Modern Business in Comparative Perspective., the core course for all final year undergraduates. Ailson is an excellent colleague for a number of reasons. He is cooperative, helpful, and a contributor to ideas on content and delivery, and he always meets the deadline set by the team for marking and other processes. Moreover, he is able to explain a range of complex topics in a coherent and enlightening manner to students, both in lectures and workshops. Finally, he works beyond his formal work hours, continuously willing to meet and talk to students, and the response from the student body to his teaching and personal attention has been wholly positive. He has maintained this contribution while recently taking on the role of Director of Undergraduate Studies, in which, amongst other activities, he is making a valuable contribution to creating a sense of student belonging to the department. I should add a personal note: Ailson has a deep personal commitment, or passion, for teaching and its pastoral aspects, for its own reward, and because he can make a difference to the development of students, intellectually, socially, and professionally, while they are at university.”
