Sustainable Agricultural Systems

Organisation profile

Organisation profile

Ensuring that food is produced sustainably for all is one of the key challenges that we face. Agriculture is currently one of the largest contributors to anthropogenic climate change and is associated with other negative environmental impacts. Food must be produced and distributed more sustainably, to increase the human health benefits and reduce the health costs of our food production systems (for example, air, soil and water pollution, biodiversity loss and climate change). SAS aims to address these challenges. To achieve this, innovative interdisciplinary solutions are needed, spanning social, scientific, economic and health research. We work together with partners in academia, commerce, charities and policymakers to contribute to a sustainable food system.
