As a Business and Management School we aim to apply the insights of social science to the management of private, public and voluntary sector organisations. A shared feature of our research is its international and comparative focus, with a strong historical, sociological and political-economic approach to management issues and activities. Research in the Business and Management School is organised into several areas with an established international reputation.
Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014
In the 2014 REF 75% of our research activity was judged to be internationally excellent, placing us 29th out of 101 in the overall business and management rankings, and 26th when adjusted for research intensity. On the key measure of the quality of the research outputs published we were 14th out of 101.
Working papers
The School of Business and Management Research Paper Series is published to circulate the results on ongoing research to a wider audience, and to facilitate intellectual exchange and debate. The papers have been through a refereeing process and will subsequently be published in a revised form. » School of Business and Management working papers
