The workshop was funded by the research project “The Role of Clinical Commissioning Groups in implementing telehealth with their local partners” sponsored by the British Academy of Management (BAM) Researcher Development Grant. The workshop hosted presentations and discussions from academic and professional speakers in the health care sector. Its main objective was to discuss the major challenges to effective leadership to IT innovations in the health sector and how these challenges can be tackled theoretically and practically. By drawing on latest and interdisciplinary research and practice, the workshop offered a perspective on the major technological, organisational and institutional issues that affect coordinated leadership in the implementation of healthcare IT innovations and explored possible ways forward.
