Post-screening discussion of Fatih Akin's award-winning film with the Ephemeral Cities Research Group at Birkbeck College, London.

"The Ailing City” screening and discussion series explores how film engages with (and reflects) illness and perceptions of sickness and health in urban space. Over the course of five Thursday evenings in May and June 2016, the Ephemeral City Research Group explores bodily illness, states of mind, and urban decay and rejuvenation through film. The screenings are followed by interdisciplinary discussions with experts and academics from fields as varied as applied medicine, film studies and architectural history.
