I organized and moderated this panel on “Chinese Identifies, Politics and Place” after conferring with the Dean of Goodenough College who kindly offered William Goodenough House as a potential venue for the poetry event I had in mind. I had heard Sarah Howe, Hannah Lowe and Jennifer Wong read at separate literary events, but never together, thus I thought it would be interesting to curate an evening of poetry and discussion during which they would read and speak alongside (and with) one another about their poetics and thematic concerns. The event attracted a crowd of over fifty attendees who were thrilled to hear these wonderful poets whilst ringing in the Chinese New Year of the Rooster at Goodenough College.
