Description

S. Pearson & Son was a multi-industry British contracting and oil conglomerate. Part of the Science Museum’s collection since the 1970s, the Pearson photographic archive covers fifty years of the company’s industrial history from 1880 - 1930. The photographs, compiled in c. 150 albums depict the construction of bridges, dams, railways and oil exploration in Mexico, among other themes. In this paper I will outline the photographic networks in which the Pearson albums and photographs were engaged with by Pearson and external stakeholders.
