Description

Paper presented at the International Medieval Congress, hosted by the University of Leeds, in July 2025. I spoke on a panel discussing the roles of learning, scholarship, and cross-cultural communication in the society of the Byzantine Empire. My contribution explored the influence of Augustine in an under-studied Byzantine poem, and how this informs perceptions of Augustine's reception in Byzantine society.
