Description

Join the Centre for Criminology for an insightful online seminar with Professor Ben Crewe, Dr Susie Hulley, Dr Serena Wright, and members of the Prison Reform Trust.

This online seminar builds on the book release Life Imprisonment from Young Adulthood (Palgrave 2020) which focuses on the experiences of imprisonment of people incarcerated as young adults in England and Wales.

Authors Professor Ben Crewe (University of Cambridge), Dr Susie Hulley (University of Cambridge) and Dr Serena Wright (Royal Holloway, University of London) will discuss the results of their research, which was focused on the experiences of over 300 people imprisoned across the country, and reflect on the findings.

Paula Harriott and Zahid Bashir from the Prison Reform Trust will also be present and will reflect on their work in building a Prisoner Policy Network amongst people incarcerated in prisons across the country, and the prison-based perspective on long term confinement.

This seminar will be chaired by Dr Alexandra Cox.

This seminar is part of an online open seminar series, hosted by the Centre for Criminology.
