This international colloquium will cover aspecst of the personality, life and work of the distinguished teacher, scholar and theologian George of Cyprus (later Ecumenical Patriarch Gregory II, 1283-1289). Speakers include Costas Constantinides, Charalambos Chotzakoglou, Sofia Kotzabassi, Joseph Munitiz SJ, Aristeides Papadakis and Immaculada Pérez Martín. Co-organised by The Hellenic Centre, the Hellenic Institute, Royal Holloway, University of London and the Postgraduate Programme of Mediaeval Studies, University of Ioannina, with the kind support of the Society of Cypriot Studies, this one-day international colloquium will be held at The Hellenic Centre, Great Hall, 16-18 Paddington Street, London W1U 5AS. It is dedicated to the memory of Julian Chrysostomides, on the occasion of the fourth anniversary since her passing away (18.X.2008), and of Constantine Leventis (1938-2002).
