Delivering Change Cohort Sensational Museum Training

Activity: Talk, presentation or media contributionInvited talk

Description

The Sensational Museum is a 2.5-year research project funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. Co-creation between disabled and non-disabled museum professionals and visitors has been at the heart of our work as we develop and test a toolkit for running inclusive co-creation workshops to develop inclusive exhibitions or experiences in museums.
In this interactive workshop we will explore some of the Sensational Museum project’s key findings, and share practical tips about working accessibly, from the principles of co-creation to the running of an accessible workshop.
The session will also explore how inclusive access tools such as creative audio description and descriptive transcription can improve access for everyone and discuss the difference between ‘accessible’ and ‘inclusive’.
