Managing privacy and security at home is difficult. The lens of monitoring, trust, and security procedures is used to study the daily security of domestic workers in Lagos, Nigeria. The objective of the presentation is to highlight the security relationships between domestic workers and their employers through semi-structured interviews with important actors, like recruiters, domestic workers, employers, academics, and non-profit representatives. The presentation aimed to show how employers work to protect their most valuable assets, including their possessions, children, and in certain cases older people, when dealing with domestic workers.
